Chevy Cobalt Chrome Accessories.

The 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt is an average compact car with little to set it apart from the competition. However, an affordable price, comfortable ride, and lack of any major drawbacks may make the Cobalt a viable choice for budget-conscious buyers.

As in previous years, the 2008 model is available in both a two-door coupe and four-door sedan design. Three trim levels are available -- LS, LT, and Sport -- and a high-performance Chevy Cobalt Coupe SS was unveiled mid-year. Late-year LS and LT models also received an updated XFE five-speed manual transmission that boosted fuel efficiency to 25 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. In terms of performance, the Cobalt offers zippy results. The base LS and mid-range LT come standard with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 148 horsepower. The Sport edition gets upgraded with a 2-4-liter four-cylinder engine that ups the ante to 171 hp. Unfortunately, sloppy handling and noisy mechanics tarnish the otherwise peppy drive of the Cobalt.
Opting for the high-performance 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS diminishes many of the vehicle's performance misgivings. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine increases the fun factor considerably with a heart-thumping 260 hp. Based on the same engine as the Pontiac Solstice GXP, the Cobalt SS punches from 0 to 60 mpg in 5.7 seconds courtesy of a five-speed manual transmission. Other notable performance features on the SS coupe include a unique body kit, Brembo brakes, and stability control.

Inside, the Chevy Cobalt may leave drivers wanting more.

Comfort is of great concern to shoppers in the compact class, and the Cobalt simply doesn't deliver. While the Cobalt SS features plush sport seats, the rest of the trim levels deliver rigid, uninspired seating. A low seat position, awkward proportions, and cramped backseat don't help the situation. Throw in a bland interior design and inferior plastic components, and the appeal of the Cobalt drops another notch. One positive of the interior can be found in the unexpected level of cargo space. The trunk offers considerable storage, and the rear seat can be folded forward to provide additional space for large objects. For the 2008 model year, Chevy bolstered the Cobalt's available safety features, which include antilock brakes, stability control, traction control, and side curtain air bags. Even so, crash test ratings have been a mixed bag, with the NHTSA awarding a perfect five stars for passenger protection, four stars for driver protection, and three stars in side impact protection for front passengers.

Nissan Xterra Spoiler.

The front of all Nissan Xterras receive a new look for 2009, along with new wheels, seat material, and colors, while Off-Road models also get roof-mounted lights and SE models come equipped with leather seats.

Strong, purposeful exterior styling hides a well-planned interior on the 2009 Nissan Xterra. Motor Trend reviewers note that this second-generation Nissan Xterra, which debuted in 2005, "stays true to the more industrial, squared-off lines of the previous generation," but the 2009 Nissan Xterra boasts a "sturdier, muscular appearance, helped in part by the wider fender bulges." Kelley Blue Book muses that the Nissan Xterra "looks as if it were born to be a long way from pavement."
Cars.com reviewers find that "the Xterra offers a chiseled appearance," thanks to "its large grille, with its angular slats," and the "flared fenders and stepped roofline." They conclude, "If you like your SUV to look tough, the Xterra has toughness in spades." Edmunds says, for Nissan, 2009 brings an Xterra that comes in "four trim levels—X, S, SE and Off-Road," though the external differences are minimal.

While the X, S, and Off-Road all offer 16-inch wheels, the SE comes with "17-inch alloy wheels," and the Off-Road model sports "off-road tires," according to Edmunds.

The interior is very ruggedly styled and versatile. It includes an adjustable channel system in the cargo hold for securing bike racks and sports gear, as well as a total of 10 utility hooks. Cars.com approves of the Nissan Xterra's "large numerals on the tachometer and speedometer" that "help make the gauges easy to read." ConsumerGuide praises the "high-set" audio controls that "are easy to reach," but they add that the "steering wheel cruise and radio controls have tiny black markings on a gray background, rendering them nearly unreadable in most lighting conditions." Kelley Blue Book likes the "clean and purposeful interior.”

According to this source, the car is going to be produced in Japan and come as a four-door similar to the Lexus IS and equipped with FWD and a 3.5-Liter V6 tied to a six-speed automatic. If this person knows what he or she claims to know, prototypes are out testing now and he's got a picture of it from a Toyota employee in Toyota City, Japan Ann Arbor, Michigan. We guess Toyota thinks the name has a lot of equity?

Smooth. Sporty. Aggressive. The Toyota Solara has turned plenty of heads in its lifetime. One of the most tasteful ways to add to the look is with a custom Toyota Solara Spoiler.
